About Remodel Calculators
130 free construction calculators for US homeowners and contractors — built on American industry standards, no signup required.

Hi, I'm David
I'm David Miles, the person behind Remodel Calculators. I built this site after watching friends and family — homeowners and tradespeople alike — get burned by bad material estimates. Too much drywall sitting in the garage. A second trip to the supply house mid-job. A contractor quote that didn't add up because nobody actually ran the math against published coverage rates.
So I started building calculators that use the same formulas the pros use — PCA for concrete, MPI for paint, NRCA for roofing, ACI 318 for structural concrete, manufacturer specs for flooring and siding. No guessing, no padded numbers. Just the math, with sensible waste factors baked in.
Every calculator is free to use, with no account and no paywall — because most people just need a quick, honest estimate before a Home Depot run or a contractor meeting. That's the whole point of the site.
Free to Use — No Signup, No Paywall
All 130 calculators are completely free and always will be. There's no account to create, no trial to start, and no limit on how many times you can run them. Enter your dimensions, get a material estimate built on industry-standard coverage and waste factors, and copy or print the result.

Built for US Homeowners and Contractors
Every calculator on this site is built around US measurement units (feet, inches, square feet, cubic yards, gallons) and references American industry standards and building codes:
- • IRC — International Residential Code (US adoption)
- • IECC — International Energy Conservation Code
- • ACI 318 — American Concrete Institute
- • PCA — Portland Cement Association
- • MPI — Master Painters Institute
- • NRCA — National Roofing Contractors Association
- • NWFA — National Wood Flooring Association
- • PDCA — Painting Contractors Association
The climate and code guides cover all 50 US states, with climate-zone considerations drawn from the IECC. If you're estimating a project anywhere in the United States, these tools were built with your job site in mind.
What This Site Is
Remodel Calculators provides accurate construction material estimate tools for contractors, builders, and DIY homeowners. Every calculator uses coverage rates, waste factors, and formulas drawn from recognized standards — PCA, MPI, NRCA, ACI 318, and manufacturer specifications.
Results are estimates. Actual material needs vary by site conditions, surface preparation, and applicator technique. Verify quantities with your supplier before ordering.

Who Uses These Calculators
- ✓Painting Contractors: Quick exterior and interior paint estimates for client quotes

- ✓DIY Homeowners: Reliable material estimates before a hardware store run
- ✓Property Managers: Budget planning for exterior and interior maintenance projects
Estimates, Not Promises
Results are material estimates based on standard coverage rates and waste factors. Actual quantities depend on surface condition, texture, application method, and installer technique. Confirm final quantities with your material supplier and verify compliance with local building codes before purchasing or starting work.
For Contractors: Optional Pro Upgrade
The contractor tools — saved projects and client-ready quotes, purchase orders, invoices, and change orders — are free to use with a free account. The free tier is capped (a handful of saved projects, and a limited number of documents and clients), which covers most homeowners and the occasional side job.
Contractors who run these every day can upgrade to Pro ($29.99/mo or $299/yr) to lift those caps — unlimited documents and clients, Price Book auto-fill for your saved material and labor rates, markup & profit tracking on every quote, and your own logo on every PDF. It's an optional add-on, not a wall in front of the calculators.
Questions? Get in Touch
If a calculator gives you a result that doesn't match what your supplier or estimator is showing, I want to know about it. Email me directly at info@remodelcalculators.com — I read every message and I'd rather fix a formula than have someone over-order materials based on bad math.
Built in the USA for the Trade
Remodel Calculators is an independently operated site, built and maintained by David Miles in the United States. The goal is simple: give US homeowners and contractors honest material estimates based on published standards — free, with no signup — and give the contractors who want more an optional set of professional tools.
