T1-11 nailing schedule and orientation — 6″ edges, 12″ field

T1-11 runs vertical; nail 6″ o.c. around the perimeter and 12″ o.c. into field studs with 8d galvanized or stainless nails. That spacing is where the fastener count comes from.

What this diagram shows

A T1-11 plywood siding panel drawn face-on. The panel runs with its long dimension vertical, grooves running top to bottom, and shiplap edges that interlock with the next panel at the sides. The APA fastening schedule puts nails every six inches around the perimeter and every twelve inches into intermediate studs in the field, using 8d hot-dip galvanized or stainless siding nails with an eighth-inch gap at the shiplap edges. The nail count the calculator returns comes straight off that spacing.
